A double-storey basement under an existing terraced house in Earl’s Court — one of the most demanding forms of basement construction in London. Two full levels were formed below the property, with the house occupied-ready above and neighbouring buildings tight on both sides.
What we did
- Sequenced underpinning to the structural engineer’s pin-by-pin design
- Deep excavation with temporary works and propping throughout
- Reinforced concrete retaining walls and slabs forming the new two-level box
- Drainage, sump and pump installation
- Structural waterproofing to make both levels ready for habitable fit-out
Why it matters
A double-storey dig leaves no margin for improvisation: every stage is inspected, every pin recorded, every prop in place before the next cut. This is the kind of project we build our reputation on.
