A basement dig-out in Chiswick — a period property with the usual west London constraints: limited access, party walls on both sides and a conservation-minded street where site tidiness mattered as much as the structure.
What we did
- Sequenced hand excavation beneath the existing footprint
- Underpinning pin by pin to the structural engineer’s drawings
- Temporary propping and structural steels
- Reinforced concrete floor slab and retaining walls
- Drainage and preparation for the waterproofing system
The result
A full-height new level under the house, structurally signed off and ready for conversion into habitable space.
